Director of Surveillance Operations
Derek Nelson is the Director of Surveillance Operations for Frasco in the Orange/Inland Empire office. Mr. Nelson is experienced in the area of Workers' Compensation investigations. His investigative experience includes statements, backgrounds, locates and surveillance.
Derek joined Frasco as an Investigation Supervisor in 2002 and became Branch Manager in 2007. Prior to joining Frasco, Derek was an investigator for a Detroit based investigation company, an intern with the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, a Prosecutor's Assistant with the Lucas County Prosecutor's office, and a Judicial Law Clerk with The United States Federal District Court in Toledo, Ohio. He also has extensive experience in interviewing, counseling and deposing of key individuals in litigated matters.
Mr. Nelson was a Magna Cum Laude graduate in Criminal Justice from Madonna University in Detroit, Michigan. Derek also graduated Cum Laude from the University of Toledo College of Law in Ohio, where he focused on Corporate Law, was a trained Mediator and was the Managing Editor of the student run journal entitled the Toledo Journal of Great Lakes' Law, Science and Policy.
