ALERT!!
On September 30, 2004, Governor Schwarzenegger signed AB 1825 which mandates California employers with 50 or more employees to conduct at least 2 hours of anti-harassment training for all its supervisors every two years. Employers are required to complete the training by January 1, 2006.
In order to comply with the new law, an anti-harassment training program must meet the following criteria:
- The program must be interactive.
- The program must include information and practical guidance regarding the federal and state statutory provisions.
- The program must include practical examples aimed at instructing supervisors in the prevention of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
- The program shall be presented by trainers or educators with knowledge and expertise in the prevention of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
